"My start at Hannover Re was very good. I particularly liked the fact that my colleagues took a lot of time for me during my induction and were always willing to answer my questions. This also applied to enquiries from colleagues with whom I had no previous experience."
Yes. Experienced professionals with commercial training or solid industry experience in IT, law, business or other professional fields have the same opportunities as academics, depending on the position. You can also find more information on this in the Professions section.
Reinsurance isn't something you usually learn about at university, which is why we take the time to familiarise you with the subject. We offer intensive, international induction programmes called ReEssentials to give you the best possible start. These courses provide you with a wide range of business insights, from the basics of reinsurance and the specifics of underwriting to the ins and outs of technical accounting. This will prepare you well for your respective role. Fostering our We-Spirit is a matter close to our hearts. We learn together and laugh together, and you'll enjoy our friendly atmosphere. Our ReEssentials also give you plenty of space to network, meet new people and exchange ideas.

A detailed assessment of your foreign language skills is important for the evaluation of your qualifications. We have created a four-level scale:
We define basic skills as the use of simple expressions in a personal or family context, such as when shopping or describing the local area.
Conversational fluency is the ability to understand essential information in a personal, academic or professional context, to cope with everyday situations with confidence, to express experiences and ambitions, and to write simple texts with a personal connection.
We define business fluency as the ability to understand the main ideas of complex texts, both concrete and abstract, to carry on technical discussions in a given field, to interact spontaneously with native speakers and to write complex text including arguments and options for action.
Native speaker level is the ability to interact in the language without a foreign accent and be understood effortlessly.
You will find this scale in the "Language skills" section of each application form.
Please include all certificates and references relevant to the position and related activities, including school reports. Certificates of previous work experience give us a detailed picture of your qualifications. If we are missing a certificate, we will contact you.
Please only use attachments in PDF, DOC/DOCX, RTF, JPG or GIF format.
You can upload a CV and a file with your certificates. Please note that the maximum attachment size is 50 MB per file.
Log in to your application account and open the application you wish to withdraw by clicking on the tile in the "Submitted application" section. At the bottom right you will find the "Withdraw application" button. After confirming the pop-up, your application will be set to "Withdrawn" in the system and you will receive a confirmation email. A tile with the status "Withdrawn by applicant" will remain in your application account.
You can delete your personal application portal account at any time. However, please note that if you delete your account during the application process, we will not be able to process your application any further. Your application will be treated as "Withdrawn" and therefore considered closed.
To delete your entire account, go to the "Options" menu on the application portal, click on "Settings" and select "Delete profile" on the bottom right. A pop-up will inform you that clicking on "Delete all data" will permanently delete your account on the Careers Portal, remove all information and remove all applications from the relevant process.
If you receive a rejection, we will keep your documents for six months before they are automatically anonymised.
Check your application account regularly or respond to the request to renew your consent to storage of your data. Only we have the ability to find your application profile and match it with new vacancies. If there is a match, we will contact you to start a new application process.
