Practical experience at last: join us as a trainee

During your 18-month trainee programme, you will rotate through various specialist areas and get to know the reinsurance business in depth. Each phase lasts between two and four months. The first phase usually takes place in an area where you work mainly with internal colleagues. This gives you a good overview of our business. The rest of your programme – usually with an underwriting focus – will be planned together with you. A placement in Group Finance is mandatory. Requirement criteria:

This programme focuses on Life & Health reinsurance. As a trainee, you will rotate through our market and service areas, getting to know the full spectrum of our work. This will give you the opportunity to find out where your talents lie and whether, for example, you would prefer to work with internal or external clients. You will quickly build up your network across the company. Our Life & Health Reinsurance business is growing at an above-average rate, so the opportunities for you to showcase your talent are growing too. A placement at one of our international locations is an integral part of your trainee programme. This programme offers you an introduction to a wide range of our work areas. You could work on risk management, pricing insurance products or developing innovative reinsurance solutions. As a Property & Casualty Reinsurance trainee, you will spend time in Group Risk Management, Group Quotation Service, and Advanced Solutions. You can take your time to find out where your talents lie and whether you prefer to work with internal or external clients, for example. At the same time, you will quickly build up your company-wide network. A placement at one of our international locations is also an integral part of your trainee programme. During your 18-month trainee programme, you will work in various IT departments and get to know the reinsurance business. Each phase of the programme lasts between two and four months. You will complete the first phase in our Digital Incubator team, which supports and drives the evaluation and implementation of digital innovations in the specialist areas. We will then plan the next phases together. A placement in underwriting, our core business, is mandatory as is a placement of up to three months in one of our international offices.
